Well I'm back at it for the time being. This work thing is really cramping my style and interfering with me stuffing my head in the slot machine. I did purchase some of the extension cables from Jim so I can more easily jam my head into the machine. Let me tell ANYBODY who does not have a set of these.....get some quick before he realizes how valuable these are and raises the price! Seriously though these are a must have and you will spend a lot of time trying to make them yourself.

Anyway back to the issue. I still cannot get this thing to reset the odds board after just playing two coins. I have checked the contacts and verified good connections when it steps on the second and third coins. It always resets after three coins but will not reset after playing just two. I am pretty patient and will figure it out but right now it is eluding me. The other clue it is giving me is when I play two coins then play one coin it does not reset the odds board and still displays two lines but....after the reels stop I hear the handle release come in and I can spin the reels over and over again but it does not pay. It sure would help to have schematics to this bugger and I really don't want to chase the wires and open up the harness. Still having fun with it though and learning something every time I poke my head in it.

I know Reno and others have pointed me towards the odds unit and that is where I have concentrated my efforts but honestly I just don't see anything there that is not working or making contact. I have cleaned all the contacts and metered them out as it steps and they are all switching properly. The zero switches are held open when the board is reset with one coin and the limits are NO and NC. On the second coin the zero switches are closed and the limits remain NO and NC. On the third coin the zero switches remain closed but the Limits change state and become closed and open. So far so good?

Please take a few pics of the odds unit for us to look at. Also you can take 3 pics as you manually advance the unit for each coin. I think you might want to check those switches again. Sometime I have had switches that look good, and when I put a meter on it, it shows continuity. The problem was with mine was it was pitted on the contact and the extra carbon kept it from making good contact. Also when you meter the switch, use the meter leads on the solder part of the switch, not on the blades. You can make a contact read good if you press down on the blade when normally it doesnt have that pressure and is intermittent.

Well persistence pays off!!!! I took the odds unit out and checked the contacts again. This time however I unsoldered the wires and guess what...one of the zero switches WAS NOT making contact on the first step. I put my meter on the wires and nothing until I slightly bumped the reset coil them I got continuity. I bumped it again and it disappeared....jiggle jiggle and it came back! Not quit sure what was causing that but obviously the coil was causing the meter to lie to me. Fortunately as luck would have it I happened to have a replacement coil that worked for the time being. I adjusted the bad contact, put it all back together and tested again with the meter this time it metered out correctly. Machine now resets after playing two coins. A big hats off for all the help on this one.  :thank_you: You guys were correct it was on the odds board after all but with mitigating circumstances.  :hail: :applause: :thank_you:
