Hello I have a bally electro mechanical. Someone hit the jackpot on it and the person tried to reset it by pushing the reset buttons. Now as soon as you turn the machine on it blows the fuse in the hopper. Any thoughts?

The pic you posted is very small, but it looks and sounds like an E1000 or E2000, as an EM machine do not have a reset button (only a reset KEY on the side of the machine).

Where is the fuse that keeps blowing located? On the hopper?

The reset buttons are little black posts that stick up out of a little box. The fuse is in the hopper that keeps blowing as soon as you turn the machine on.

the hopper control board is defective (common problem) - this is the board that those 2 black buttons are on. We sell a replacement board if you can't get that board fixed.

How much is it and is it hard to put in? Also do you know how to reset a jackpot?

our board is a re-manufactured board that REPLACES the one you have (see the 2 pictures on ebay). Board is easy to install.
You need to get past the fuse blowing to see about jackpot payout.

As was said....you need to get last the fuse blowing before you can address the jackpots rest...two systems, but intertwined.

Hi, if your machine is a bally ELECTRONIC one, then you might check on the forum just above ours, which is labelled Bally Electronics. We are Bally Electromechanicals here. I mean you're welcome to post here, but won't get a lot of help on your electronics part. Don't want you to get frustrated.

Pull the hopper out by the handle.. There should be two Phillips screws holding the mount plate to the hopper.. Remove the plug and mount the new board on the mounting plate..

It screwed right on the front of the hopper.. How can you miss it? Grab and pull.. Out slides the hopper..

Got the board replaced and it is no longer blowing fuses!

Now I have a tilt that is saying 50 000. The last time the machine worked someone hit a jackpot. Any ideas? Thank you all!

Do you have the rest key? It's located just under the handle on the right side. If you don't then open the door and reset the switch on the inside. If that doesn't clear it, try pushing the two buttons on the hopper board. Left one first, then the right one. The solenoids should cycle. Close the door and try playing it.

They can probably solve many or all of your problems if you ask someone there.
You are welcome, of course, to keep posting here in the E/M area, but that isn't our expertise...and I would like to keep it limited to E/M stuff here if that's ok with everybody.
