Hello.  I have a Super Continental 891-1 that was converted for use in a Youth Organization for fund raising in the early 80s.  It has a Remote credit unit to add plays to the machine but was torn out when removed.  I have been able to piece it back together over the last few weeks, so that the remote unit now adds credits, but then the credits are removed just as fast before a chance to press the play credit button.  Also, when I do get the chance to play, if the reels land on a win, nothing happens.  I think that may be due to one or more of the reels score arms sticking or slow to return to correct positions.  The machine has no coin mech or hopper drum, but does have the coin unit that pays out to the hopper.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  I am ordering the EM Manual from Marshal Fey, so that may help, and I would love to find an upper payout glass for this machine too.  Again, thanks for any assistance.

It sounds like the credits are being told to 'payout' and thus zeroing them out.
But I am not that hep to credit machines.
Look to find what is obviously added to the machine, and what is original.
Sounds like a heavy project, but bit by bit we may be able to all help.
I'd say use the Force, but we probably need even more than that.
Lots of pics will probably help out a lot.....Hint.
But don't make them tooooo high rez....please.

Hi OldReno.  I have a few faded pages of a converting sheet, but most is really illegible.  I noticed while cleaning points is a loose mount relay, I believe is a Pulse Relay on the bottom next to the hopper mech.  The relay was blackened but appears to work kinda.. when I activate the $20 button on the remote unit, this relay chatters and sparks wildly.  There are 3 relays in the remote unit, all say 48v on them.  The relay in the machine says 6v.  I'm no rocket scientist but I'm pretty sure Bally used around 50v, so I think it should also be 48v.  I cannot check that because they only other relays I have are all 24v for wurlitzer jukeboxes.  Lol.  I have attached a photo of this relay, that has a lg resistor attached.  One of the diagrams I have shows a relay with such attached.  Thanks for any help.

Today I checked out that 6v pulse relay, and came to the conclusion that it must be correct, hence the lg resistor attached, and the fact that a 48v nor a 24v relay even work in it.  So I now have to trace back to see what is causing the credits to remove right after being added.  It I press the Play Credits button above the pull handle, I hear a buzz, and as I go to pull, the credits stop being removed. Once the reels stop, if it's a win, it add credits, but then takes all the credits off again, unless you press the credit button and pull the handle quick. If it's a non win, it begins removing credits afain.

The Super Continental had been somewhat working, and I burnished the points today, and it stopped.  I can still add credits that get taken off as fast as I can put them on, but it now will not release the handle.  I noticed that if I adj the center upper stepper wheel, I get a pull but then again nothing.

If one side of your plug in relay coil is powered by an orange wire, it's 50V.  If it has a blue wire, it's 6V.
BTW, please make sure you download your FREE bally em manual so that we are all on the 'same page' when we talk about components.
I have no idea what a center stepper upper wheel is...
