S2000 loud volume & static on lowest setting.

Have a non-enhanced S2000 Triple Diamond 3 reel game with extremely bad static & excessive volume. volume level is set to 1, swapped out mpu, & amp to no avail. Was wondering if I could put a volume control pot off an old s+ board on the input side of the amp to reduce the sound?

Did you get the machine like this or did the problem develop on a machine that had been working fine? If it's new to you, check to make sure all audio plugs are in the right sockets and that there isn't a seperate volume control like some vision macines have. Maybe unplug speakers one at a time and see if the problem disappears also, then replace or check wire polarity on the problem speaker if there is one

Was a non working machine when i got it. plugs are correct, no change when I unplug & or swap speaker connections. no other volume controls found.

 Changed the jumpers on the 10 pin like in the pics from the link. Sound is now adjustable. still have a buzz while the reels spin, but can live with that.

Are you trying to reduce the volume or the buzzing?
This will not fix the buzz there are other solutions for that.
