New Bally Alpha Owner-Questions!
« on: October 02, 2018, 07:05:57 PM »
Hello Everyone!

So I recently acquired a Bally Alpha S9000 Hee Haw.  Lady I bought it from had some tilt errors, and sold it very cheap.  I was able to borrow a clear chip from a friend and got it all up and running plus changing the batteries.  So here are a few questions I have!

1.  When I bought it from her, she claimed the machine had TITO capability.  There was also some vouchers in the cabinet with her name on them.  I did a complete ram clear and cant get the printer up and running.  It keeps saying print com lost during print.  I had to do another ram clear to turn the printer off.  I have it setup now with just a jackpot reset on any cash outs.

2.  She also had it setup with the service button giving a $10 bonus credit every time the button is hit. I have no idea how she had it wired (obviously wired that way from whoever she bought it from)  Is there a way to either turn that off, or change the value to a higher amount?

3.  She has a mastercom 250 on it, with a scrolling message.  How difficult is it to change this message, or getting it sent out to have the message changed?  I am not even sure which eprom would have to come out to change the message.

I am a S2000/S+ guy so this is all new to me to an extent.  I would love to get the printer setup mainly...I did not see any TITO board in there or maybe it is, and im just not seeing it.  It's def not a BETTOR tito as I have one of those and know what it looks like.  Thanks for any input!

Dan

The credits added by the service button is definitely a TITO thing.  You should look at com1 on the backplane (Vertical black single row molex 5 pin connector).  See if anything is attached to that and follow it.  It should be a 3 wire connector leading to the TITO board if it is still there, if not, you can just get one from Bettorslots.

What printer is in the machine?

Bettorslots has a video on how to setup TITO for a Bally alpha system.  Just look it up in youtube.

The mastercom's eprom can be reprogrammed.  There are a couple of people here that know how to do it.  Personally I've never bothered enabling the card system on the machine.

I believe the printer to be a futurelogic gen 1. I’ll check it out tomorrow to see where the cable is running to on com 1. Thank you!

You can't change the bonus (credit)amount on a TITO but you don't have to enable it. (system bonusing)
