Ceronix 1492

I have a IGT PE with a dead Ceronix 1492 monitor.  The game plays, just nothing shows on the screen.  I replaced the monitor 19 years ago.  A few weeks ago when I turned on the machine, the monitor just had a 1/4" line across the screen.  Within about 5 minutes the line had widened to full screen and everything worked ok.  This makes me believe the capacitors have dried out and are nfg.
I don't really want to try replacing the caps and then find out something else is wrong or not being able to get the adjustments right. 


I would like to buy a new monitor that will just drop in and work.  If there is a LCD drop in replacement I would probably go for that.  I have been unable to find either monitor with a google search.


The current monitor is IGT pn: 69104190,  Ceronix Model 1492
I will consider sending this monitor to someone who can repair it and test it.  Like I said, I want a drop-in fix.

Ceronix does offer a direct replacement that is plug and play.  https://www.ceronix.com/15-players-edge-upright/1002-cpa3003.html  I installed one in my Igt PE with multi poker on it and it works great.  They are a little pricey, but if you like you machine it is worth it!

Thanks for the reply 47, after I posted here I found the CPA3003 on the Ceronix website and sent them a msg asking if it was a replacement for the 1492.  Within minutes I got a reply confirming that it is, confirming what you have posted.
I have just now placed an order for the 3003 LCD monitor.  A few months ago I bought an LCD monitor from them for my Game King and have been very happy with it.  Hope that holds true for the PE.
So, I will post here if I have any problem with the 3003 after I install it.  In the meantime, if anyone has a use for my old dead CRT monitor I will let it go for shipping charges, assuming the 3003 gets my machine going again.

well, I got the Ceronix LCD replacement monitor for my dead 1492 CRT and it was plug-and-play replacement.  I am happy with it.
Anyone have any use for a dead 1492?  I noticed a blown fuse on the board but no other obvious problems.

I would be interested in at least the chassis. I would take the whole assembly if there is a safe way to ship it, and not break the neck on the CRT.

Did the replacement LCD monitor come with a new monitor bezel for the flat panel?

The LCD did come with a new bezel but I have not put it on.  Not sure there is room for it or how to mount it but I may try again.  I have another bezel for the CRT but it is much thicker than the new one.  The LCD came in a good shipping box with styrofoam liner.  I think it would be safe to ship it in that box.  The shipping charge for the LCD was $42.12 UPS from California to Texas.  Not sure of the shipping charge to you but I will only ask for shipping charges to ship it to you.
My guess is a re-cap and replace the fuse would get it working.

If I remember right, there is an adjustment screw for the monitor shelf depth. Maybe under the shelf or on the front edge as a stop screw..
