That is normal.
Did you check the diodes near the power connector the transformer plugs into?

I'll do that tonight. Are they the IN6373s too?

And, what's a good source for those parts, now that Radio Shack is gone?

1N5401, try Jameco Electronics or Mouser Electronics.

Ok, I believe they are good. 41k-48k ohms from the anode; open from the cathode.

I was wondering about about how to compare our readings to find out if our IC component is out of specs
from those data sheets that companies like Mouser/Jameco puts out online?
or are we just checking to see if they're shorted out?

Below is the 1st page from a 1N5401 data sheet...>>>

Pull one leg out and check each with the diode checker.
You are looking for a open as well as a short.

There is a newer diode that replaced the 1N5401 but my schematic was so fuzzy I could not read it.

Done. All good. 580-640, no shorts. What's next?

You either need to further test the board with a oscilloscope or send it to our shop so I can test it on our tester OR buy a working, tested, board from one of the vendors on NLG.

Actually, I already bought one. I was hoping to fix this one myself. I'll keep you in mind, though. What do you charge for a diagnosis?
