Author Topic: After clearing Airplane BB2 game and set up, it loads unto 56% and stops? (Read 3053 times)

After I set my demons, devices, type of button deck, etc and I close the door, it goes into configuring game but stops at 56% loading the game & just goes to the WMS blue & black screen, showing closure & restart on the bottom. Am I missing a step in the set up mode perhaps?

What is the proper OS card for Airplane? I've tried an H 13.35 & 13.37, they both will load up to about 56% and then just go to the WMS blue/black screen and I've waited up to 5 minutes and it never loads all the way

H13.21 is what is on the original card I have, which is SSSG1673. Some of the older games are not compatible with a newer OS. Drop back to something less that what you are using.

Please tell me what I could be doing wrong: I got a new game card & new OS card. Did a clear with ya CPU-NXT RAM CLEAR card, followed procedure, set my devices, denominations, etc and saved all, but return to game, closed the main door, went through the configuration set up and again when it got down to the loading of the game status bar, it stopped at 56% then a big "call attendant" icon came on the bottom screen. I turn the key on the side & it said machine fault, press test switch to select restart, assert fail, assertion false, file=video/CRwRenderer.cpp2375 function=good CRwRenderer::SetScreenResolution(int, it, bool)

Any idea what I can do? This machine works perfectly fine with WOZ Ruby Slippers & Lord Of The Rings. This may not matter but this machine has an OLED button panel with 13 buttons, 10 in the middle of the panel, 2 on the left side and 1 larger one on the right that has the WMS logo on it. Will Airplane only load if a certain button panel is selected in the set up part? I'm losing my mind over here, hopefully someone can help me out, thanks

What monitors are in the machine?

It's throwing a screen resolution error if you look at the error you posted.

All I know is the top monitor is larger than the main touchscreen monitor, but shouldn't it go all the way to 100% when loading rather than stop at 56% where it just goes back to configuring?

Answer this question. Has Airplane ever worked before in your current configuration. Also the monitor issue was brought up because some machines look for the proper firmware on the scaler board. Bally and WMS do. Has to hand shake with it and digest. Many games don't need it but airplane runs a lot of video. Just a suggestion to look at.

No sir, I've never run Airplane on this particular machine, just Ruby Slippers and Lord Of The Rings 2 Towers. So with the info you just provided, how can I go about getting the proper firmware on the scaler board? Thanks for that info, hopefully that's my issue and I can get this game to work in my machine

You can't upgrade the firmware on the monitors without the proper tools and firmware. Usually done at the factory. Your best bet is to find a monitor that works correctly. If you have a generic monitor for your top screen (and since you say your monitor on top is bigger, I am assuming wider), you probably need the 4:3 aspect ration monitors used on the bb1.5 or dual screen bb1's. That is what I've used to run airplane before. Also, not sure if it works with OLED, it is one of the older titles.

Well dang, guess I'll put up a WTB post in the classified section, I'm sure someone will have one, hopefully the OLED deck won't be an issue. Let me ask you this: I have another dual screen BB1 machine (I'm guessing that's what it is) can I just swap the 2 monitors? What can I look for on it that will tell me if it's the monitor I need to make Airplane work?

no, both the mismatch of your monitors is probably causing the issue

If you have a dual screen bb1, just put the nxt2 mpu in there and connect the top monitor's vga input to the vga connector on the nxt2 mpu for the top monitor. It should work correctly like that. I do that to mine all the time.

The white VGA is the one currently going to the bottom main monitor, the blue VGA is the one currently going to the top
