Bally S6000 safe ram clear problems
« on: April 09, 2020, 10:07:25 AM »
I have a Bally S6000, it errored out a few weeks ago, battery....No prblem getting it changed, and when I did a safe ram clear it now says error 31. The slot has no coin hopper or anything like that, it just accepts bills and prints out. Very basic.
Ive tried several times to clear it and reset it. Ive also went into the 11D configuration and checked all of the values. Still no help. At one time I thought i had it back to normal and when I put a $50 bill in it the payout music started playing as if I had cashed out. No matter what denomination of bills I put in, the same thing......
So I started over and did another safe ram clear, and now im back to the 31 error. Im totally frustrated with it and cant seem to get it right. I dont have the set up sheets for it so Im not even sure im doing this correctly.

Any advise and or help would be greatly appreciated.!!!

Here are some notes I have sitting around...I have not worked on a 6000 for some time now...Hopefully these setting will help.

 Here's my 11d settings after the clear if it helps you in the field (this assumes progressive is running - Otherwise comments on the #7 setting) (also some unnecessary settings, but ones I like added):

 Machine with coin mechanics:

 9 = 4

 2 = 4

 7 = 1

 78lo = 1

 51 = 9999

 54 = 0

 56 = 160 (set this for max you want the hopper to pay out, anything higher goes to hand pay)

 58 = 1000

 73 = 0

 61 = 1

 81 = 1

 69 = 0  (assumes coin acceptor is by Coin Mechs Inc.) (use 69 = 1 if by IDX)

 Machine no coin mechanics / hand pay upon cash out:

 9 = 4

 2 = 4

 7 = 1

 56 = 0

 51 = 9999

 58 = 1000

 78lo = 1

 73 = 0

 61 = 1

 81 = 0

Thanks for the 11D settings, ill give it a go through and see if any of my 11D values are different. Any idea why it would default to the 31 error?

Im thinking my safe ram clear process, I may be doing it wrong or something.

Thanks

It sound like the machine is looking for the hopper since you did a ram clear...Like is said it has been years since I worked on one...

31 Hopper Coin-Out Jam The hopper's coin-out optic has been blocked too long (see
Troubleshooting, Hopper LED Error Codes).

Been long time for s6000 but is the hopper connector jumped?  You need a jumper if I remember correctly?

did the machine ever work before you did the ram clear while you had it?...If so, then it should only be a setting.

The machine worked perfect for 2 years before I had to replace the battery. There is no hopper or coin capability on this slot, so there must have already been a jumper if its required because its worked perfect that way.

Thats when this all stared. I did the safe ram clear and then went through the process and still 31 error.
Im certain Im doing something wrong , just dont know what it is.

Not sure what I was doing wrong, but after doing a safe ram clear again and going through the 11D settings and checking the settings against the S6000 set up, it actually worked this time.

Does anyone know if its possible to change the sound clips on these slots, I have this customized with chicago cubs artwork but still the old sounds, It would be awesome if I could change them
