Bally S5500 - Hopper runs backwards continuously

Hi,


Ive got a big problem:
The Hopper of my machine runs backwards and doesn´t stop.
The Red LED is on the whole time.
When I push the reverse button nothing happens.


What can I do now ?

Replace the hopper control board or try reversing the motor leads.
www.slotmachinerepair.com sells the hopper control boards.
It could also be your hopper has 2 sets of optics to detect the coin out and one optic is bad so the control board is constantly seeing a blocked optic and assumes a coin is stuck under it and is reversing to try to clear the coin.

When I would reverse the motor leads, then the motor runs in forward direction and don't stop.
And it runs correct since I have the machine. I carried it upstairs and emptied it.
Since then he has been running backwards without an end.


It is a XS1200 but there are no optics ! Can that be ?


And there are nothing stucked anywhere....


Could the control board break down by carrying the machine upstairs ???


Is there any way to reset the controller board ?

I changed the motor leads.
Now the Hopper turn into the forward direction but it doesn't stop running.
It pays out all the Money which is in it.


So is the only possible reason a damaged controller board ?

That would be my guess.
Does the hopper have 2 sets of optics or one.
Remove the two top, side, screws that hold the control board and flip the board down and post a picture of the board.

It has a hopper switch.
Make sure the two wires that connect to the switch are connected to the COM and N/C terminals on the switch.
Un-plug J3, slide off the white cover, get a thin flat blade screwdriver and shove the two wires further into the contacts on J3.
When you press down on the coin out switch arm on the hopper do you hear a click?

The wires are connected perfect. I checked the connections in J3 and shove the cables deeper into the plug.
When I press down the switch arm I can hear a klick.


But the Motor runs always backwards and the red light on the controller is still on.


What can I do more ?

Get another hopper control board.
I sell them on my website. Click to order one and let me know what part number yours actually is and I can send you the exact one used in your hopper after testing it to ensure it works in my S5500 slot.
