TDC machine help
« on: August 11, 2020, 07:35:17 AM »
Good day all! So I was told that this is the place to find any information on my TDC slot machine. I purchased my machine from an estate sale, and the lady told me that the memory battery needed to be replaced. So I figured no problem. I soldered in a new battery an then realized that all of the memory had dumped when I got the “Bad Ram” message. Which leads me here. I am looking for a place or person to send the card to and have the ram reprogrammed. Help?

Hello and welcome.
Is this a pachislo (or "skill stop") machine?
Please post a photo of the machine as well as one of the inside so we can determine what this is.

TDC machines were the machine types at the Las Vegas airport back in the day.  they had an alpha numeric display, unique audio sounds and not common game type themes.  Its a three name company, can't remember think its Takaska ?  ?

Thanks Jim
Found one... Takasago. And not a skill stop. And I found one of your replies:

From Jim in 2010:
Those TDC machines were not that rare!   anyone who flew into Las Vegas airport were greeted by those machines. pretty neat for the time, they had the alpha numeric display, which was operator programable, hopper similar to a Williams, and they worked well, also had neat audio sounds.

Otherwise I'm not seeing a whole lot. I'll keep combing through the old site.
Luraedaddy6, does your machine look like this?

I managed to find a portion of a Tagasaga slot machine manual.
Here's the instructions on a RAM error. Try this steps, if possible,  to resolve the problem.

So here is a pic of the machine. Had a guy come by today and he agreed that the chip set needed to be reprogrammed.

Did you try the procedure as suggested?
Did the service person just "agree" or did he do this already?

Holy crap! You guys are awesome. So I re-read the instructions in the above and come to find out my dumb ass was flipping the switch in the wrong direction. It is now reset. But now a new problem, my coin acceptor will not open to drop coins in. I will continue to fiddle with it. Thanks guys you all are great

Great! Making progress...
Do you have a coin acceptor or coin comparitor, which is mechanical. If it's an acceptor, check to make sure there's a sample coin inside. You should be able to see where it goes.

Yes sir it is electrical mechanical. When I hit the machine power down switch the red light flashes, that is the only time the light comes on. I’m assuming that this is not normal

I don't see a quarter in the CC.
Slide the part that reads "slide to replace coin" to the right and put a quarter in the groove on the bottom.

So when I put the coin in it will set on the top of the mech. when I slide the release it spits the quarter out of the bottom of the machine

Luraedaddy6,

Your coin is in the wrong spot.  It is too far back.  There is a small channel in the piece you slide back. The coin will sit in that.

Found my photo.  It should look like the one shown here.

Aha, so that acts as a preset to what coins or tokens will be accepted.so I have the quarter in place but the coin now just falls through. I think the plunger on the back side isn't flipping open to direct the coin in the correct direction. Thoughts?

Insure that coin is in exactly as you see in the photo by 63mini.
Also check to make sure the connectors are firmly seated in the CC.

Got it all figured out, had to turn the sensitivity down on the coin sensor. Thanks so much for your help and valuable time. So after playing for a bit the coin hopper stoped spiting coins out. Upon further inspection I saw that the center bolt had sheared off. So off to find a guy to tap it out and replace it.
