What Bally model and help with issue
« on: May 02, 2021, 03:36:00 PM »
Hello and thanks in advance!I am trying to determine what model this is so I can figure out why it no longer registers coins and plays.

When the door is closed coins feed into the hopper, but doesn't register the coin or allow me to pull the arm.

When the door is open coins are returned (pretty sure this normal). I can bypass feeding coins and active the arm and spin the reels by lifting up on a metal piece on the arm mechanism. Machine pays out when a winning combination occurs.

You can see in the photo that the "3rd coin" column is illuminated meaning three coins have been feed into the machine. Column illumination will cease after a game is played. Seems that the machine is stuck mid-game or something.

There is a white button behind the hopper that does nothing when I press or hold it in. I thought this was a reset button.

There is placard/tag on the side that reads:
Bally Manufacturing Corporation

Chicago, U.S.A
95 2-A
5cm-31

952A is a bally model number for an EM slot, but that machine has a double progressive jackpot in the top.

I'd guess your game is a conversion to something that behaves like a model 1090 ... a 3 coin multiplier with left<->right pay.

your top compartment is way bigger than needed for a simple 3 coin multiplier, so bally didn't make it that way.

if you don't have any circuit boards in the game, you'll want to switch to the "Bally Electromechanical" area and post there.  More pics would be great, especially what's in the top compartment (both the lamp side and the stuff behind the lamp panel), as well as the left side of the reel mech.

assuming it is a bally em, when a coin is accepted the coin relay on the bottom/rear of the reel mech will trip.  That will in turn trip the handle release relay.
