For anyone or the infamous Rick
Will a game that requires SSOS 1221 load on a NXT2CPU?
My quagmire is I have a BB2, but have an OS SSOS 1221 card from before I upgraded from a BB1 machine with a few TSE board games which use that OS, game, and a 64MB TSE CF card, and a friend out of state has a BB1 who would like them.
But they’ve been in a box for some time so I don’t know where they came from or if they’re even good. They’re labeled properly and look like original WMS cards. But that’s not a sure thing.
If the SSOS OS won’t load on my BB2. Can I put an SSOS 1221 OS card in my BB2 just to verify the OS card DSS signature is valid? Or will it just puke in my BB2? I’d at least know the CF is likely good if my BB2 would do that check before realizing it’s a BB1 OS and halting if it can’t load that OS.
I archive my BB2 cards as CF cards do fail. So I took a vhd of this SSOS CF, the 64MB TSE card, and the game CF that’s 256MB. Hoping to be able to verify them by the vhd file sizes. But don’t have any tested backup vhd files for that OS and TSE/Game cards to compare the sizes to.
Not sure if that would even be a validation. If I read the SSOS CF as an ima file it’s 1K different than a vhd file of the same card. Is that normal? Bottom line is I’m just looking for a way if possible to verify these cards that use SSOS 1221 if I can’t check anything about them in my BB2.
Any thoughts for a way to check these SSOS cards either with my BB2 or by another method if my BB2 is of no help?
Thanks!
