S+ 49 error

got a 49 that won't clear - reels all have power going to them - wire harness connections to each reel are good.   Haven't tried a CLEAR yet - would the problem be CPU or Mother board related??

I know this sounds weird but, try opening the door and turning the reset key then closing the door and latching it. Like a general tilt. I know the reels aren't spinning but what's it going to hurt? Sometimes reels do strange things.

Clean the optic on the reels . Check to make sure a wire is not cut somewhere where a cable tie was removed with cutters. reseat all the connections to the motherboard inside and outside.

Barry,   49 means a reel is disconnected.there is a wire loop on each reel that completes a series circuit.I have seen the pin on the reel pushed up intp the plug assembly, thus opening the circuit.  the cable from the reels does connect to the motherboard, and the signals do reach the cpu.

my customer got the problem fixed - I told him to push each of the connectors to the reels several times - and look for any loose wires - so he sends picture of  a wire on the door? After telling him - no the wires to each reel - he reported that the machine was working - but the coins he was playing were not going to credit but to the coins in.  anyway SORRY for the 49 post - it is as it is - there is only one answer.  thank you all - and HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!
