G23 MLD swap clarification needed

Greetings,

After much reading there isn’t a difinitive “how to” on swapping std to mld screens I’ve found.  Would be a great post if there was! 

It all seems to be about mounting. 

I have a G23, no issues.  Brain box has 4gb, 4690 dual dvi card, and SSD.

Second pic is the mld monitor KTL220MD-04

I have the 440w PSU. 

I didn’t see anything else required to swap.  Only lots of discussion about mounting. 

Can anyone chime in on whether this new mld will fit the existing monitor mount as it’s a larger std screen, and I’ve read the mld is an inch smaller physically as it apparently has a little more components on the edges.  Thus its a 22in.  Even if it takes a little modding, would it swap? 

If not, any comments on what’s needed to mount the mld screen in my cabinet?

Thanks for any info.  Would really help clarifying if it needs anything else to do an mld swap.

You can't just swap to a mld montor, you need the mld door assy also.

Or can I source that door from part resellers?
Is there a specific name a part # or such to search for that would help me locate the right one?

Knowing what to search for is usually the hardest part in locating it.

I'm wondering how your MLD swap worked out. Did it all go well and are you up and running?

It actually got easier!  lol

I did get a new door for an MLD screen from Ellary Gaming which was pretty cheap.  They just take the screens out and really don't keep the doors.  So it was like $20 plus shipping.  They also got me a few unique cables, just send them a part num and also a photo of what I needed, they found it and shipped it for a very reasonable price.

But I got a great deal on a G23 with an MLD screen, so then there was no reason to upgrade mine and now I have both a std and MLD machines.
Still lots of titles that only run on a std screen machine.  So nice to be able to run both!   

But I kept the door, everything gets harder to find, so some spare parts around is a good thing!
