Hi all. I'm new to this website and forums in general.

I recently purchased a slot machine which I believe is an Australian Igt/Aristocrat nickel machine. I believe it is a '78.

There are a few problems. The machine lights up but when putting a nickel in it, the nickel drops strait to the bottom. Also the arm won't pull.

There are no error codes. I have tried pressing the reset button. Could it be not enough nickels in the hopper?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

open the door and post a picture of the inside part of the door, and of the machine where the hopper is.  We need to see what we are dealing with.   If your machine has a comparator, you may need to put a sample coin in it.  Did you buy it as a working machine, or "AS IS"

That was my first thought, but wouldn't a 1978 model have had a mechanical coin comparator?

And yes I think I may have taken a coin out of it. I'm not sure where the sample coin goes.
