S2000 5X Pay Double Spin
« on: September 13, 2023, 09:44:55 AM »
Howdy!  So for I have been on a quest to convert my IGT S2000 5X Pay into a 5X Pay Double Spin.  I purchased the strip for the 3rd reel that is needed and I used a SB001000 base chip and the appropriate SS chips for my 2 coin version.  That worked fine except I was stuck with legacy sound and I am not a big fan of legacy sound.😞. So the quest continued.  No one seemed to know if there was a S2000 native SB chip made for the 5X Pay Double Spin theme ( I have since found there is but no one seems to have the chip or the file😞) but the Richard Petty Theme as it turns out is a 5X Double Spin clone!😊. Yay!!  Well not so fast!  I would come to find out that though it is a clone the strips need to be offset for it to work right.  So after spending some time I have figured out how much that offset needs to be and I will try to document it here as best I can!😎

Reels 1 & 2 use strip number 84859700.  With them loaded onto the reels properly with the notches in place, take a straight edge and make a mark right at the top of the cherry symbols.  That will be where the edge of the strip should be when offset. (Pic 1 & 2)

Reel number 3 uses strip number 84604600.  With that strip loaded onto the reel properly with the notches in place, take a straight edge and make a mark right at the top of the Double Bars symbol.  That will be where the edge of the strip should be when offset. (Pic 3 & 4)

Then using the appropriate Richard Petty SB chip for 2 or 3 coin everything should work properly and you will be able to have Richard Petty sound or any othe DSV chip you would like play while running the game!😎

Hopefully this all makes sense and hopefully someday if we can locate SB100625 this won’t be necessary but until then hopefully this will help someone out!!😊
