Display's NETPLEX Link Is Down

Display's NETPLEX Link Is Down message comes on after the self-test passes.  Power supply checks good, 13V on pins 1, 2 & 13, 25V on 3, 14 & 15 and shows a logic high on pin 7 (6V).

This all happened when I turned the game on and was getting the door open message.  After slamming the door a few times, the message went away.  Then, I got a reel tilt and RAM errors.  After I cleared the RAM errors, I got the Close Door message, but once again, I could not make the optics see each other...  After trying several times, I got frustrated and tried to use a Clear 97 chip.  Then I got the dreaded NETPLEX error.

I can't seem to get anywhere with this machine.  I did bypass the optics today and used the cherry switch instead.  I should have done that a long time ago.

Does anyone have any insight on a solution?

First 2 things I'd look at would be the voltage on the green varta battery if your board is of the 1270 enhan ed variety and that the power supply behind the reels and MPU are seated well

Game is back on track.

Well, I had to key-chip the game...

I did not want to do this, but had to.  I used a clear-chip and then the key-chip to reset the entire game.  Game is back on track, but it really sucks reprogramming the printer.

Off topic, but my door optics bypass did not work.  I ended up adjusting the optics and they are on track again.  I guess I need to revisit the optics bypass threads to find out what I may have missed.

Glad you got it fixed. If it happens again, rather than a clear and key, try a netplex test in menu 4

On a personal note I'm not a big fan of optic bypass. The optics work great when adjusted properly and rarely fail.
Bypassing will not fix a bad MPU, why change a system that the factory has designed for industrial use in a casino environment.

I'm a big fan of the bypass of those pia optics if door shags you have trouble with by pass you can test game with door open, lmo its the way to go  takes less than 10 mins to do
