Write strobe enabled error
« on: October 27, 2015, 11:48:36 PM »
Hoping someone can help. I've been trying to install an I game and I keep getting "white strobe enabled" message. I double checked everything on the board several times and I still get this message. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you!

Have you tried clearing the memory on the board?  Which game are you installing?  Has it ever worked?

Thanks,
Jason

Yes, I cleared it with a keychip 40. I just purchased the game " money storm". I'm trying to convert my game king to an I game. Not sure why this error keeps coming up. Thanks

You probably have a non-upgraded "3900" board.  If so, you could either do the upgrade or buy a "3902" board.

I had this issue once and it turned out to be dip switches in the simms.  Sometimes in shipping the get jostled and the dip switches are moved.  These are the correct positions for dip switches.
CGF does not have switches
SNDF should have all switches OFF
PXLF3 should have 1,2,3 ON and 4 OFF
PXLF4 should have 1 and 4 OFF, 2 and 3 ON
PXLF5 should have and 1 and 3 ON, 2 and 4 OFF

Note that no tall 3902 software has the 5 simms, so check whatever Simms your set has and verify the little switches.  Sometimes the switches have moved a bit, so make sure they are all the way in either the ON or OFF position.

Thank you all for your help and suggestions. I'm going to check the position of the dip switches and try it again. I'll post with the results as soon as I get it done.
