Pacific (universal?) 5 reel Firebird 2
« on: September 05, 2023, 06:52:51 PM »
Good day all.
Greetings from New Zealand..

I was wondering whether this great community can be of help.
I picked up a Pacific But may be universal (says universal australia on the game score plate)  5 reel slot, per photos for cheap. NZ50 (currently 30 USD),
while it does need some obvious work, door lock microswitch is no where near the lock but I can see where it was mounted.  my first concern is the "game invalid..  meter error" any bright sparks here have any idea on where to start or even better have some manuals?

Sorry, no bright sparks here when it comes to Aussie Universals.

Seems they need some sort of startup chip. Heard a long time ago they used a Dallas encryption chip. Not sure??

Never seen a manual for the 8600 mpu machine.

You could try this; See there is a tiny white button on front right corner of mpu board. Hold this button down while powering up the machine and release after three seconds. This is how you reset the American (8116) board machines. Might work???

Thanks for the suggestion,

I did find the reset button mentioned on the RH side behind a cover. No luck yet.
Took the board out for photo to hopefully trigger more suggested tries.
