Bally 6000 error 31 won't clear (SOLVED)

I have a machine that Ihave cleared due to a dead battery and now I am getting an error 31 when i power the machine up. I checked and cleaned the coin out optics and made sure there is not anything blocking the path but I am still getting the 31 code. Any suggestions?

Check 61 in your 11d menu. If it's a 0001 or 0003, Bingo. It needs to be a 0002. your 31 says the machine is looking for a hopper.

I just checked and it is already set at 0002, is there a way to just bypass the hopper?

With 61 on 0002 the machine should never even look for a hopper. A few things to check,  11 - 0001, 54 - 0000,  56,51, & 57 - 8000+, 73 - 0000, 81 - 0000, 20 - 0001. all other settings should be set to default as per your manual pages. 2-14 & 2-15.

After checking your settings, make sure you have at least one ticket in the printer and use the reset button several times, open & close door. It should clear.

Got it Lindsey, the ticket was not in the printer, I also changed a few of those last settings you mentioned, so it was one of those two suggestions, my guess was the ticket not in the printer, karma to you.
