Igt s2000 double diamonds problem

i have a igt s2000 double diamond slot machine. I am new to working on slots, i have replaced the coin battery and all the chips. I replaced them with the exact numbers that were on the old chips. Now i get a call attendant. If i go thru the reset procedures i get game type not linked error. I have tried the clear chip and thekey chip. They do not do anything when i put them in. All lights on the stepper board stay lit. Any advice?

Hi and welcome to New Life Games. I think we are going to need more information. First is why did you change out the game chips. We're you having aow battery message? If you post a few pictures of your main board, maybe we can slot a problem. It's possible you have an eprom installed incorrect? If you could share the information on why and what Eproms you changed, then hopefully we can get you up and running. What number Key and clear chips do you have.

When i bought the machine, it wasn't working. The man i bought it from said he called igt and they said it had a bad battery. I replaced it and it still didn't work. Red a few post and they were talking about replacing the chips, so that's what i did. I am new to slot machines. I bought a clear chip ivc00097, key chi is31. Version chip is v011nx5, stepper 1 is sh000598, stepper chip 2 is the same just says number 2, stepperr base is sb101578. Stepper board is model 1952-2

SB101578 requires SG000597. The SG000598 chips are causing your game not linked error. Please post a pic of the award glass. There may be another SB chip that will work with the 598s.

SB100911 or 912 will probably work with the 598 SGs or you could just switch to SG000597s.

I went and checked the old chips, and you are correct, it originally had the 597's, and that was what i ordered. Somehow they sent me the 598's and I didn't catch it. I am going to put the old 597's in and see what happens. Will i need to clear it and key it?

You should be able to just clear the errors with the jackpot/reset key, press test switch. If you get a machine type mismatch you will have to key it at least but that will probably not happen. You should remove that Varta Battery from your board. It is badly corroded & will ruin your board. It is not required for home use. It's possible that you may already have some acid damage to the traces and/or surrounding components & may be destined to fail.

Now it went through auto configuration and it is now saying EEPROM CRC failure

With the door open, keep turning the key until it says press test switch for 2-3 seconds.

OMG, i think i love you, lol!!!! Just kidding, i thank you soooo very much, it's all up except for now I'm getting a closure M  machine type mismatch. It did the spin, everything is lit up, i just have that now.

Like RB stated, your going to want to remove the green Varta battery. It's leaking acid. Make sure to clear the area with a good spray cleaner for curcuit boards or a vinegar bath and since with water and let air dry.

Glad you got it working. That's a great game. I see you have the multi media board and DSV 82 it should be playing a tune during the bonus spins. RB thanks for bringing him up and running.
