IGT PE+ Error and Door Problem

I recently acquired an IGT PE+ machine but I've been having some problems with figuring out what's wrong with it. The error that keeps popping up is CMOS DATA. A lot of websites say that you should press the white test button, close the door, and turn the restart key. I've tried this but the DOOR OPEN text won't go away. I was thinking about replacing the optic sensor and will probably order new parts soon. Does anyone have any other solutions I could try for the DOOR OPEN and CMOS DATA errors?

Have you pulled the MPU board out and test the battery voltage? The battery should be higher then 3V. New batterys read around 3.6V.

Yes, I forgot to say that I already replaced the lithium battery and it reads around 3.6v.

If you have done a battery swap, then you need to open the door and push and hold the white button in for about 5-10 seconds until you hear a ding. Then I think you close the door and turn the reset key on the side.

We have already tried this multiple times and we here the ding but nothing happens when we turn the key. That's why we assumed that the door has to be closed first before you turn the restart key. Should we replace the optics on the door? We assume that's why the DOOR OPEN text is still there.

Yes, and it's the issue you're currently facing.  You will not be able to get past the error currently displayed on your screen if the machine does not detect the door as being closed.

Since your machine has a dollar bill validator, ensure that the access door to the validator stacker ("cash can") is closed and latched (if equipped).  If your machine has an access door for the stacker, it must be closed or the machine will report a door open, even with the main door of the machine closed.

If that doesn't resolve your issue, I would suggest replacing the door optics with a set of known good optics.

In order to get past the error that is on your screen, the "DOOR OPEN" message must go away.  If the machine is displaying "DOOR OPEN" after you've heard the ding from pressing and holding the self-test button and you've closed the door, it is not detecting the door as being closed, and you will not be able to clear the error.
