Thanks Elvis.  I had looked at old threads, but the eBay links were dead.  All set.

I got the new board and cleopatra works great.  Is the pull handle purely decorative on the vision machines?  I don’t see a way to bet one credit without it auto spinning.

The other machine definitely has a bad ballast.  Using a flashlight, I can read the boot up and initializing message.

That game does not require the dual row button deck. It should have a regular deck. Can you press the 1 line button then pull the handle?

Not a ballast, an invertor. LS520. It does the back lighting. Since you can see with a flashlight

Cleopatra seemed to operate normally for a bit, but having some issues-

Frequent general reel tilt.  Perhaps the base chips do not get along with the board?

Handle solenoid did not work initially.  Started working and making noise with reel stops.  Sometimes the solenoid engages randomly while game is resting with credit in.

Brief delay from reel spin to top display on occasion.

No sound from right speaker

Seems like general buggyness.  I only used key chip with board replacement, not full clear.  Would this be a good idea?

Buggyness on cleopatra was caused by Mia-adjusted door eye sensors.

Getting ready to put the new board in hari mata.

Is there a way to keep the .05$ Denomination, while accepting and paying out in quarters?

Also,  how do I set the hand pay limit?

Yes when you set the machine up set the denomination  .05 cents and the coin denomination to .25 cents and you should be good to go.

When using the key chip, under denomination there is only the coin option.

Is the denomination for the machine located elsewhere?

I set coin to .5 and each token worth 5x

This does the job, but lists credits and tokens rather than cash, which is kinda boring.

There is game denomination which you set at .05 and another for coin denomination. I'll check when I get home for the exact call out location.
What SG chips are you using?

Sounds like you want a multi-denom Version chip that shows both cash & credits. It can be done but you also have to change the SG chips to SG000380 with the MD3 OS. Then your ATA has to be compatible. 10065 is required. It's a can of worms. If it ain't broke don't fix it. Just my opinion.
Quality doesn't cost. It pays.

There is no multi-denom button on these machines.

I agree & would leave them as is, however the glass has a nice matched .05$ decal.

Just a pain to collect enough nickels & all my other machines run on quarters.

It doesn’t matter what the machine has set for accounting as long as the sample coin is the one you want to play with right? The machine could be counting everything as nickels but as long as there a quarter in there that’s all it will accept?

well...you must take into consideration that a quarter coin is larger than a nickel.  :rotfl:

soooooo.....you gotta change some stuff.

First off, does a quarter fit into the slot on the button deck and come out the bottom of it?
Does it go thru the optic decoder?
Does the hopper pick up the quarters on the wheel shelf and send it thru the hopper optic and out into the coin tray okay?

If not, then that's some of the stuff you're going to have to change to make it use quarters correctly.

Oh I see. I just assumed that if a comparator was set up for nickels, it was already set up for quarters. As in, the coin comparator capable of taking quarters takes everything from pennies to quarters, which would include nickels and dimes. And then when you get to 50 cent pieces and dollars you had to change the comparator.

I didn’t realize there was a nickel specific coin chute and optics.

The machine was set up for quarters and plays & pays perfectly with them.

The decal says nickels & I’d rather keep it as it makes cashing out easier.

Setting coin denomination to nickels and token to x5 works fine.   Just annoyed that it says insert token.  Sounds phony.

Small potatoes,  but I guess I’ll just keep it that way.

Cool machines, got a fantastic deal and both are working great now!

Thanks for the help!
