G20 top monitor resolution problem, I'm beyond confused.
« on: October 25, 2021, 12:58:27 PM »
I have 2 of 5 AVP that have Kortek KTL201S-03 top monitors that are not running at the correct resolution. It is cutting off a bit of the picture on the right and bottom side, even during OS install when it is just running a bash script or whatever with text only so I know this isn't OS related. The odd part is that I took a top monitor from a machine that was not doing this, and it still did it so I thought maybe it was the MPU. But they are all 660 MPU's with the same boot chips, and switching the MPU did not solve the issue. Ok, so that only leave the DVI cable itself right? Tried switching those as well as using a DVI to VGA adapter on the MPU, and running VGA to the top monitor. Same issue. I'm pulling my hair out, I've eliminated all variables that I can think of. What gives?

If you threw the suspect two Kortex LCD's into another cabinet, same problem?

In other words....does the problem follow the LCD's?

I hadn't gone that direction yet, but suppose I have to now. I'm just not sure why the Auto and Resize options are not available to be selected in the OSD menu on the monitor.

I don't think DVI allows Auto and Resize
If it ain't broke don't mess with it.....

I have tried a DVI to VGA adapter and that did not resolve the issue either. It appears to only be an issue with the Kortek KTL200S-03 monitors. The machines I am not having a problem with are Tovis top monitors, but I am confused because the Kortek monitors came in these machines.

Unfortunately there's no video adjustment on the A/D circuit board itself.

My suggestion to you would be to try replacing the A/D board to get the screen to display a full screen.

I warn you....these A/D replacement boards are not cheap.

I think this fella is selling some?...>>>

One word of caution when swapping AD boards in the Kortek monitors.  There are two types of these boards.  One is 5V and is 12V output.  Make sure you buy the correct one for your monitors.  The board in these monitors is usually labeled what voltage board they take.  Happ or Patriot both sell both types of boards.  They are around $100 each plus shipping.
