Memory error G20 Version 2

Can somebody tell me what this error is and where to find these memory chips.  This is on  AVP version 2 G20.

They're the two EEPROMs on the backplane board circled in red.  Make sure they're installed correctly and the correct ones (25256E).

yes. that's the chip for the OLED buttons.  I dont believe its needed for a static deck.

I once bought a load of machines from West Virginia,  they removed every socketed chip on a number of machines. Someone must have been new.  What a pain.

Thanks for educating me on that. I've had 8 or so G20s but never a V2. I suppose the blackfin board would not be needed then on the V2.

Blackfin not needed on the G2, it's the same as the G2 G23, same hardware basically.

Someone educate me please.  I thought the board on the G20/G23 V2 machines with the yellow handle pictured above was the cabinet controller board AKA "blackfin board", am I wrong? The original G20's didn't have one, but they have a different backplane board.  You certainly can't run a G23V2 without the cabinet controller, and I would think it would be the same for a G20V2.  What am I missing?

Although I haven't tried it, I'd be surprised if the cabinet controller would run without the missing chip RB pointed out.  The machine may boot, but I'd expect that it would throw an error of some type.  Let us know.

That is the blackfin board, on the G2's it is included on that cabinet controller, but it also includes things like the USB controller for devices as well as USB hub to plug in printers, dongles, etc.  You can definitely run the system without the blackfin eeprom if your machine does not have oled buttons.  It is basically a USB device that is just hardwired, but if it has no firmware, it doesn't boot up and thus doesn't even register on the USB controller.

Thanks Rick.  On the V2 cabinet controller I was thinking the EEPROM controlled the functions on the entire board, not just a small part of it.  Thanks for setting me straight!
