Are all your buttons connected to the same place on all the switches? COM and NO ?

See photos and below reply to Stayouttadabunker.

Your wiring is all screwed up.
They must ALL be connected in the same way in order for the deck to work, or you'll be crossing logic signals.

Take all the LED bulbs out.

You have them in wrong. (See your 2nd sentence in Reply #6)

Double -check the wiring harness to each and EVERY switch under the deck.

Most likely, you have a switch wire or more confused with a lamp wire and on the wrong contact tabs.

Okay, so I reverted all the microswitches, bulbs, and buttons back to the original microswitches, incandescent bulbs, and buttons that came with the machine... then disconnected the wires that connect to the bulbs. All the colored wires are according to the schematic you provided. See photos.

I also made sure that I cleaned with soap and water all the button parts to get rid of all gunk.

The buttons are behaving MUCH better, but there's still obvious moments where the presses don't register. The Service button is actually usable again, along with the Cash Out button and Bet One Credit button. Spin Reels and Bet Max are okay too. Many back to back presses aren't being recognized though, so it's not perfect.

I have not reconnected the bulb wires. All buttons have their bulb wires disconnected.

Included in my photos are 2 photos of the microswitch used. The condition on this microswitch is the same on all buttons. Is it possible that these microswitches looking black could be a source of the problem?

Joe,

Thanks so much for the quick response & additional information. As you stated, not much information available and not too many folks that have experience with these machines. I WISH I could get my hands on a schematic as this one has multiple-colored wires :Scratch-Head:.

After your response regarding the pinwheel size, I took another look at the mechanics.  And I see that the Ike's deposited in the upper part of the machine end up on a "conveyer belt" that drops them back into the hopper. The Susan-B's are deposited in the normal coin-in location drop directly into a collection area in the base cabinet. Just curious........ Does it seem odd that the machine is set up to fill the hopper with Ike dollars (or tokens) and dump the Susan-B size dollars out of play?

Also, any thoughts on the handle being able to be pulled "any" time?

Can't tell you how much I appreciate your help and I hope I'm not over doing it with the questions? I've had this machine for years and just getting to it after retirement. So please no hurry on your response.....  :thank_you:

Regards, Lance

Sorry for the delay in responding, I wanted to make sure they fit before posting.  They do.  I bought the CPA5016 and the CPA 2212.

Thanks for the reply.  I bit the bullet and ordered a ceronix touch screen.   It is a drop in replacement and the display works now.   But I am still getting a door open M error.   Does the main door have an optic somewhere?   I only see two switches that are pressed when the main door closes and a switch in the belly door.

Lance,

In the photograph calling out the long screw and screw with shaft, yes, the motor shaft has a pin that needs to be aligned between these two screws during assembly. This is what keeps the pinwheel locked to the motor.

Interesting machine. I haven’t seen that one, though I’m not surprised as GON put out a lot of different machines. You’ll find there is very little to no documentation on their games. I have lots of paper from GON and out of it all, only 1 schematic. Some of their machines only used 1 or 2 colors of wires, so tracing wires can be a real challenge.

Check with Jim at Midwest slots.

You may have a bad senet buffer chip on your MPU board then if the cabinet I/O board didn't fix it.  Usually (but not always) when the senet buffer chip goes you get both a meters disconnected and coin-in jam error.  It's not easily replaceable unless you have equipment/skills to replace SMD components.
