Just a note, I put in the hopper $100 worth of quarters (400), it would weigh approximately 2,268 grams, and that activates the solenoid for the coins to drop into the money box inside the cabinet.

Kinda stuck here, kinda frustrating. Recap the issue.
This has been running smoothly until it just quit. Buttons, coin, bill adapter, screen don't work. I replaced the power circuit board, still no resolve.

For the life of me I can't understand why we don't have more references material on Bally slot machines, video machines, seems like I am always working on a machine that has no reference material on it.

Moving on to the capacitor. This is a 2000 uf and I am only getting 480-490 on my meter. So I will ordering a new one, hopefully this took a 💩 and it is the problem.

I worked on the fuses, removing them, checking them to see if they were working. I checked the power on the power box and they are functioning.

This was really doing great, then it quit.

I really don't know what to do next. I have checked out the power unit, the backplane, and the motherboard. I cleaned everything, nothing is burnt everything looks excellent.

The motherboard lights up. The 25¢ lights up, so the power is working.

The buttons are dead, hopper, and the bill acceptor.

The motherboard has capacitors, even though I didn't remove any of them from the motherboard I should get a reading. I found one with a Zero reading.

Getting the capacitors ready.

Capacitors are different, from night and day. Getting the exact one is critical, each capacitor has a positive and negative, the circuit board has a plus on it, but be sure you check, double check everything. If the flow of the capacitor is wrong, smoke, then boom, fire, meltdown.

The only thing that I can say positive is that I'm restoring the V5500 with new capacitors, new power parts, bill validator, bulbs, so when I get it finished with it, it will be in great shape.
