S2000 IGT Firmware

I’d like to know if the firmware that’s shipped with the used machines OEM(original) from the manufacturer or has it been changed?

Sometimes even the chip in the machine from the casino, is not an "OEM" chip.
Most of the time though, they are "OEM" chips, because of gaming commission rules.

Look at a photo I took for you below.
The top chip label is from an original chip from the manufacturer.
The bottom chip is a copy someone made for a game.
Both, I have tested, and will work all day long.

The reason for my question is this game I bought is hitting big payouts all the time. It doesn’t seem to be playing like a machine in an actual casino. Wondering if used machine wholesalers change the win/loss ratio.

You have an S2000 machine.
But why don't you tell us what chip you have installed?
We'll be able to tell you what is normally expected from the SB chip and the game you have.


Turn off the machine.
Pull out the MPU board.
The chip that contains the awards is located at socket U21.
It will be the longest chip installed in a socket on the MPU board.
Give us the numbers on the label.
Or take a picture of the label and post it.

The labels are not IGT. (That does not necessarily mean anything to us yet)

You can;
1. Hit the diagnostic button on the MPU
2. Go to menu 7 - KEYCHIP CONFIG I
3. Enter "Game selection"

4. Let us know what you see...

I might consider asking your vendor what those chips are supposed to be.  GM1 363 and GME2 363

This means game variation 6, paytable LS022309, and 92.47% return to patron

I don't know what your jurisdiction is.

If you have a clear chip, you can try lowering the percentage. Try game #1 or #2

If you continue to suspect the chips are in some way modified up, you can try ordering authentic IGT program chips.

Great info thanks. I just bought this machine locally for home use. New to gaming and was curious on how payouts work. I’ll have to do more research on how that percentage comes into play. The past week it seems that the player is up $700 vs the house. Is the percentage over the life use of the machine? ?

The percentage is over tens of millions of spins.  Some games have high volatility which would create big swings like that.  It is unlikely that you would have a doctored chip.  You can go through the accounting menus and have a look at money in/out to see what the machine has done since it was last cleared.

Years ago, I was playing a Game King video poker machine in Las Vegas.  Denom was set to .25 and I was playing Double Double Bonus.  5 hands in at max bet, I get a Royal Flush.  I keep playing on that same machine.  Two hands after the Royal Flush, I get 4 Aces and a Kicker.  Then there are times (which is most of the time), where I can barely grind out 3 of a kind.

The RNG is a fickle whore.

Here is where I went wrong. I'd thought I would make it interesting and play a little game with my wife. I would be the house and she would be the player. I figured that Casinos make bank so I was going to teach her a lesson. I would her hand pay her wins and I get to keep whats in the cash box. Joke's on me. I'm down $490 since starting about a week ago.  Not sure how long the  house is going to be able to hand pay before filling for chapter 11.  (The use of this slot machine is for entertainment purposes only!)

If you go into the "Version" part of the internal accounting pages, the machine will tell you exactly what software you have in it.
