Looks like a flashed chip in there. Must be a wba 12.

Hi, no i dont have another can, i checked it thoroughly and everything seems to be operating well , although it does have a broken plastic tab(one of the curved ones on rear bottom) but not where  the little levers that pivot to the BNA.

Can you show a picture of the broken part? Not sure what you are meaning by "tab".

Definitely a WBA 12. The easy way to tell the difference between WBAs is the harness that connects to the frame. If it has 1 connector on the CPU, (20 pin I think), It's either a 12 or 13. If it has 3 connectors, ( 2 pin, 5 pin and 4 pin) it's a 10 or 11.  Even numbers (10, 12) are flash, odd numbers (11, 13) have an EPROM plugged in.
That board mounted on the side looks like a Comm conversion board. The validators use TTL communication, but some machines (WMS, Aristocrat...) need RS-232.
On the Aristocrat comm board there is also a 24v to 12v conversion. The early Aristocrats used GPT validator that was 24v.
As for the cash can, one of those tabs broken shouldn't cause a problem. If its hard to remove the can, check the corners from top to bottom. Small dents will really make it tight.
