Looking for a set of reel strips for my Bally 6000 Roaring 20's 3 coin buy a pay with wild bars and respin.
I have purchased a set of strips but they do not have a number 3 symbol on the first strip to go with my top glass. I might also need the eproms to go with these strips. Attached is a picture of my top glass, the incorrect reel strip set and the eproms that I have that may or may not be correct for the strips that I need with the number 3 on the first reel.
Thanks for any help that you might be able to provide.

Hi,

You don' need a "3", it just means you need 3 sevens...

I have strips and prograams if you want but unless I am wrong, you are mistaken.

I think balligator is right, that the payglass is saying "three 7's in any position", meaning they don't have to be on the payline, just as long as they are visible. When the three 7's are all on the payline then that is the top award on the payglass.

Here's the strips that Rudy's has for the Bally Roaring 20's machine, they don't have a "3" symbol on them:

I have a Roaring 20's S6000 sitting in front of me as I type this. Your glass and reel strips are definitely correct, your eproms for position 18 and 20 are wrong. I cannot actually find the part# you listed but it does not match any of the part#'s for a Roaring 20's. Ideally you will want eproms between part# E730911-05 through E731511X-05 or if you want to go by SMI# you would need any set between 8276 through 8282 depending on the payout percentage you want.

Also try to get the Roaring 20's eprom for the sound card if you can find it. Then it'll play all that cool 20's music that matches the game. I don't remember the part # off the top of my head but I can get it if you want. Unfortunately I can't begin to tell you where to get it..

That's true, although I don't have any way to copy it I will be willing to send it to someone that can as long as I definitely have it returned.

Do we know for sure that the sound chip isn't already in the OP's machine? I didn't see any photos of the mpu board in this or other threads.

Oops.....I stand corrected, on the issue of a number 3 on the 1st reel. At my age, a senior moment just has to be excused.....right?
Okay....so now I need the correct eproms. I would like to have a high percentage payout. Does the SMI # 8281 sound like a good choice? If so, where can I get it?
I am attaching a picture of my MPU board. I am not familiar with the sound card and where it is located. Can anyone enlighten me? I sure would like to have the 20's music.

I have a set of 8281 chips installed in my machine currently. They are the only set I have. Payout percentage is 95% which is fairly generous. I actually want to lower my % so I've been on the lookout for a set of 8279's. I ordered a set several weeks back from a website but I've not received them yet, not even sure they have them available. However if they show up or if I can find a set of 8279's from another source I'll be happy to send you the 8281 set.

As for your soundcard the easiest way to know if its got the chip for Roaring 20's is when you turn the machine on if the guys voice says "Roaring twenties! Bally gaming incorporated blah, blah, blah..." then you've got the right one. If it has the standard bally pro sound intro then it probably isn't.

For what it's worth about a year ago I sold this and other to another member here.  I do not know if He used it, sold it etc. But I held on to the kit for years and it was a round top one with all the software.  If He still has perhaps he may chime in.  Years ago I used to tear this one up in casinos!-- :Tongue_Out: .

No problem on the senior moment, it happens to a lot of us here, and some aren't even legit seniors!
Plus, Bally could have written that on the paytable glass as the word "Three" instead of the number "3" and it would have been more clear, less chance of a misunderstanding.

From what I read above it looks like mr-monoxide has made a very nice offer to help you with the eproms.

Have you looked in the top box area and elsewhere for other circuit boards that would be the sound card? If you find it post a photo so we can id it.

In your mpu board photo the battery and battery holder look a little strange, what's going on with it?

About that battery....I put the holder on the board so I could just pop in a replacement battery rather than soldering a new battery in each time the battery dies.  I did not put the battery properly in the holder at this point, because I am not ready to run the machine until I get the eproms that are needed.

Maybe I should also note that when I got this machine, it had a different game on it with a progressive jackpot. All the glass was broken on it so I decided to make it into the Roaring 20's machine. It did have what I think is a power supply and another board in the top box which I removed, thinking it was for the progressive game. Maybe that was another senior moment....you think????

I have about 5-6 of these kits. I can check and see what SMi they have, if that helps. I don't recall seeing any sound EPROMs though. I also have the reel strips, but I don't think you need that anymore, lol!

The sound board is the 7"x 5" circuit board located on the left side wall of the cabinet directly to the left of reel #1.

It looks like I have another problem. I just checked, and the sound board is missing. So, I am going to need the eproms and the sound board with the 20's music setup on it. Does anyone have one?

Is there a wiring cable and connector near where the sound board would be mounted? Want to make sure the sound board is all you need. To see what the sound board looks like there are several listed on ebay, just do a search there for "Bally 6000 sound". It looks like some of the sound boards use normal eprom, others use flash rom. I would think the flash rom version would be harder to program with the game sounds for Roaring 20's game. The eprom version board would just need a socketed eprom installed.

mr-monoxide: is this the correct sound card that he needs?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/BALLY-6000-SOUND-BOARD-/221702535567

or would it look like this:

He will need the first one referenced with the eprom chips. The flash type I believe are for the 6000's with the premium pro sound upgrade which can be identified by the two speakers integrated into the player tracking bracket at the base of the award glass. If he needs the wire harness as well raz410 has the eprom sound board and corresponding wire harness available on ebay for $20+ shipping. Most likely it will have the standard eprom sound chip installed in it but it's a start until a Roaring 20's chip can be produced.
