Locks for Bally 9000 machines
« on: November 14, 2015, 11:53:43 AM »
Most of you know me for the older Bally & IGT machines.. I am expanding into new waters by purchasing 2 Bally 9000 machines.. I need to purchase the door locks and cams. The top chrome piece is spring loaded and does not stay closed.

Thanks, Gary

I remove the spring load mechanism on both the top door and the middle door.  Those spring loaded mechs are a pain in the butt even when you have the locks.  Removing them makes it easier to service machines when I have no locks.

I'm not sure of lock lengths or cams needed? So many different lengths, bends, and hooks..

Ok update. I went digging inside my new machines and found the cams from the locks zip tied inside the machine. Now can anyone tell me the length of the locks?

I space out a 5/8" lock to about 1/2" to get the cams to clear.

Where are you finding spacers for the locks?

None on the CPU, just on the one above the reels.

I've got a lot of cylindrical lock spacers. I could send you some but you would have to trim them down to the height you need. They are 1/4, 3/8, or 1/2 in. Gene

I did just see on Spin that they had 1/16" spacers. I didn't see any 1/8". Might have to make a phone call. I could use two of the 1/16", but that doubles my cost.

for future reference:  if you need spacers for your locks: here is what I have done.  3/4" copper pipe is the same size as the spacers you would purchase. you can cut the pipe to any length you need.  use a pipe cutter and they come out pretty neat, then you can spray paint them silver or what ever color you want.
