Game King screen dot will not respond

HI everyone , after fixing my friends game king I got brave and now I have key 40 and 22 , I thought I can work on my game king ( joker wild poker ) that has been siting in my garage for over year , here is what I have done so far , changed the battery ( round 3.0 V ) and got the machine to clear using key 40 , but when it goes to the set up menu , the options are on the screen but when I try to touch the screen , nothing happens , when I went in to the screen calibration set up and the machine tells me to touch the dot ( dot came on ) but when I put my finger on it , nothing happens.as I have read from other postings , I tried to plug the printer and bill validator and then do the set up , the screen did not respond , so I disconnect the bill validator and the printer and tried the set up and the monitor touch screen does not respond , so I am out of clues , is it bad board? thank you for all your help

That is a 3902 board, use key 22 for that, not a key 40.  Key 40 is supposed to be used with an 044 mpu with legacy adapter.  As far as the touchscreen not being responsive,  make sure you have proper grounding.  Try touching a metal portion of the cabinet with one hand, while touching the screen with the other, does it work?  If it does, then you have a grounding issue with the monitor.  If it doesn't work, could be a bad touchscreen controller or a bad touchscreen glass.  i would make sure all the connectors in the monitor are nice a snug and nothing is loose.

I tried to ground the machine as you said but no luck , I did check all the connections including pulling the monitor out and everything was fine , I have friend 2 hours away from my who has been working on monitors for pass 30 years , I will take the machine to him and see how things go , thanks again for all help , I will let you know what comes out of this .
