IGT Game King More Games...

Hi all, my first post... I just bought an IGT Game King, mostly for the wife :-), I've attached some pictures so hopefully someone can tell me which version I have. It game with 31 games but I would like to add more, my understanding is the games are already there but you need the right keychip to activate them, is this correct? I assume you plug in the keychip then follow one of the guides I came across. Thank you for any help provided. Happy new year!

You have a 3902 MPU with multi-denomination Game King 4.0 software and a MML1 soundcard.  You can have up to 12 different games enabled for each denomination.  You can't add more games than the 31 it has, but you can enable more of them if they're not all enabled.  To do that you'll need a keychip.  Contact member RB here, he can fix you up with one.

Quick thought, is the software upgradable, maybe changing chips or am I totally out of luck? I think some of these machines had over 80 games....

Yes you can upgrade software to any GK4.x set or any GK5.x set.  You will also need a MML2 sound board for 5.x sets.

To upgrade to 6.x sets you will need a different backplane, cpu and will need a flashboard with the software on it.

You have to remove the chips from your 4.x set and buy a 5.x GK set.  It will have probably 3 eproms and either 3,4 or 5 simms and install those on your board.  You will also need a MML2 sound board for the sound simm.


Are you into poker games, slot games or keno games?  Some sets are all poker, some are a mix of two, or all 3.  You can also install an I-game set instead of a GK set.

I found the complete 5.1 game board for $85, the sound card runs about $45 plus the chips and time and effort, maybe the whole board is a better option, then sell my board.... The wife wants to play multi-card keno... :-(  :Scratch-Head:
