Code 61 after replacing battery Double Diamond Deluxe
« on: February 02, 2022, 09:22:35 PM »
So just replaced my back up battery on the motherboard for my $.25 Double Diamond Deluxe, now when I power it up I get a 61 code, When I push the reset button 2 sec I get a (bing) sound and the the display goes 61-1, I close the door all the way and turn the reset key once quick. All the lights go off, the insert coin and credit flash a few times, then the error 61 comes back on.

What do I do next?

You are in the 61 61-1 loop.  You have to use a clear chip to get past it.

NLG Member RB should be able to hook you up.  If machine has a bill validator you will need a set15 chip also to re-enable it and set the denom after a clear.

Here's a long shot:

Note: - A Common problem that occurs after a game change is that you will see a 61- 1 code  after you hold the test button in and hear the "Ding" but you close the door and turn the reset key and nothing happens. This is usually caused by an open door to the cash storage container or a misaligned Bill validator. - Check all your doors to be certain they are completely closed before closing the main machine door.

I don't think that's going to apply here -- something is happening: the 61 error is returning.

You were correct in your first reply -- this person is in the 61 loop and needs to use a RAM clear chip to resolve the issue.

Well when I hit the reset button, i hear the DING and it goes from 61  to 61-1, I close the door and turn the reset key once, All the lights and errors go away for a few sec. I see the credit and insert coin light flash a few times, then the 61 code comes back.

Coin in optics board right under the coin comparitor.

Press the white button numberous times, then close the door - the 21 should clear.
If it doesn't then we need to be looking at a faulty optics board and/or a disconnected harness to the board.
If you can't afford to lose you can't afford to win.

I removed the optics board cleaned all the sensors reinstalled it….still get the same 21 code, I pressed the tiny little reset button on the optics board numerous times still get code 21. Is the green light on the coin comparitor supposed to be lit up when the door is open?

No

Yes

...I pressed the tiny little reset button on the optics board numerous times still get code 21.

That's NOT a "reset button"...that's a "Service Coin" button for a floor tech to add credits for test purposes.

You need spare parts.
Place a WTB ad in the Classifieds section of NLG for a set of coin-in optics.
Hopefully a member vendor will spot it and sell you one.

It’s a $.25 machine so does that mean somebody put in the wrong optics?

It%u2019s a $.25 machine so does that mean somebody put in the wrong optics?

No...it's means someone just had the wrong sticker on the reel glass.

Place a WTB ad in the Classifieds section of NLG for a .25 cent reel glass label like my avatar.
Maybe someone will have one for sale for you.

The denomination on the glass window shows $.25 I’m just grasping at straws and I was thinking that maybe the coin optics being $.50 that is why I’m getting the 21 error??

That's possible...esp. if the coin guide encoder is too big and the quarter you're throwing in are missing the optic beams.
Your encoder might be the one for large casino tokens.

Can you take apart the coin-in optics and show us the encoder?
It's the black plastic piece under the coin-in optics board.
It will have 3 holes for the optic beams called ABC.

It just takes a few minutes to remove a few screws to take it apart.

Your encoder needs that curved part of the plastic guide for quarters.
It guides the quarters towards the 3 holes for the optical beams.
Large casino tokens don't have that curved part of the encoder.
