Help with S2000 Board and Chips
« on: October 15, 2020, 11:30:05 PM »
Hello all,

Getting into my slot machine as it was throwing a Main Battery Low error and researching on this site, i would like to know a few things.

1. Because it looks like there is already a 2032 button battery does that mean someone else already did the change over? Or did they come like that later on?

2. Does this space mean that the green battery that is recommended to remove due to how it ages and is not needed has already been done?

3. Is the blue battery(?) one of the ones that could need replacing some point down the road?

3. These extra chips were inside the machine. I am not sure if i can use them or what machine they will match up with.

4. And what the heck are these notes on the blue tape all about?

Thanks!

1=  someone did the change over,  they do not come like that!
2=  that space means the Varta battery has been removed, nothing for you to do there!
3=  that Blue battery is actually a capacitor, nothing for you to be concerned with!
4= those extra chips are that, the SP chip is used in a S plus machine, not yours, the SS chip could be used in your machine for the game it was made for, not sure what kind of clear chip it is or where is would be used, need a number to determine that.
5= the numbers on the blue tape may be the number of the sound simm on the MML board,

Hope this helps
Jim

The clear is probably an S+ clear based on the number of pins on the eprom.  An S2000 clear would be a 40 pin chip.
