A long while back i had posted about a project i had started. Progress has been very slow first i had funds but no time thanks to the current state i have a little more time but no funds. I have built a work prototype but have also shifted the plan a bit.

Current state:
Work in progress
Benefits:
Easily add and remove credit.
Reduce wear on coin mechanisms, bill acceptor, printers.
Plug and play for any machine with existing coin hardware


Planned changes:
Switch from pic to esp to allow for more advanced features.
Easily switch between freeplay device and physical coin.

I don’t currently have a set release date. The code has a lot of tweaking still. I then plan to set a batch of the the boards to run none stop as a stress test.

I almost have the programing figured out. The next step is to make it so you can select between the free play device and the coin equipment.


Included is a video of it stuck in a loop. So far the new code has ran for 2 hours with no errors.

I don't quite understand the purpose of it yet, but you've done a good job with the coding to make it work.


So, why did you opt for this instead of just using Legacy Bonusing via a TITO device?

The benefit to this over a tito setup are
if you already have coin hardware its a direct plug and play setup.
If you don’t have coin hardware its a lot easier to enable over a tito.
You don’t have to buy tickets. Some of the tickets i have seen available to home use are total crap and cause error.
It cuts down on wear of printer, bill acceptor, and coin hardware.


Eventually i may switch over to legacy bonus but i am not good with serial communications, and implementing that would require key chip options and communication options that may be confusing to some users. Ideally it would be cool to implement both and allow the end user to choose between the two based on how comfortable they are at changing machine options.

I've always used a 5v relay on the MAX bet button lamp with an on/off switch on the reel glass keyhole.
It's as simple as it gets.

This is how it works: The MAX bet lamp lights ups after a game is complete, that event energizes the 5v relay, which in turn opens the Spin button line.
It plays games at Max Bet continuously unless you wire the relay ground wire to an on/off switch.

My board isn’t what is making the game auto play just hands the credits in and out. The button lights are switched negative all you have to do to get auto play working is wire the switch light wire directly to the buttons sense line when the light is switched to ground it pulls the sense line low triggering the button. The wires you put together the the wires that are not common together with the other buttons.

Yes...I agree with you. 

I didn't know that about pulling the low logic signal at the time I made it about 10 years ago.... - that's why I went with the 5v relay off of the Max Bet lamp.
However, I do like that was a able to switch it off easily if I wanted to and play as normal manually.

Your way is actually safer but i have never had issues. If im doing it just to test a machine its just quicker just jump the wires i have little cables made up.
