Measure it with a Ohm meter to see if it reads 470 Ohms, those usually don't fail, they are usually used to current limit and protect a coil.If you would provide a picture of the side of the coil in question showing the part number on the coil you would have a better chance of someone having it.

Is there a number on the side of the coil, not the bottom?

Sure, go ahead, put a 1/4 watt resistor in place of a ceramic power resistor.Let me know what happens to the resistor upon power up.

miked5131,

Have you checked the resister as Badbaud suggested earlier? It should read 470 ohms on your meter. The 1/4 watt one you found will not work! You will just be wasting your time with it :burningresistor: .

If your ceramic power resister is bad it is probably a 10 watt.

Also, your last post. Do you require a capacitor too?

I don't know if it is a resister or a capacitor .. its about 1 1/2 inches long kinda rectangle, white thing and says "470" on it..  and then there is another one that look like a small tube and that one is black and red

miked5131,

The photo you posted before is a ceramic resistor. The other item you mention may also be a resistor. I think you will need to post some clear photos of the following.

1. The overall game or post the model.
2. An overall photo of the old coil you have.
3. A photo showing the area of the "a small tube and that one is black and red"

Is there a reason your changing the resistor? Does it have a broken lead wire?
Please remember to make a donation to NLG for mine/our help in repairing your machines problem.. Your donations help keep this site on line.
And remember...
If it's jammed, force it.. If it breaks, it needed to be replaced anyways...
