bally 831-4 problems
« on: December 23, 2018, 06:45:26 PM »
I truly hope i am not premature in posting this however i have not been able to find (or perhaps comprehend) information relative to my situation. I recently purchased a bally 831-4 3 line payout machine. It was represented as just a coin jam to me. The hopper was imdeed jammed which i cleared. Following that it would spin but got the error code 43 on the led for which i attempted to clean the old oil and dust out of the mechanism by removing the reels from the machine and using q-tips and rubbing alcohol.the first or second reel would lock and then get the error code again.after restarting the machine (turning the switch on) it buzzed loudly and the led flashed all zeros or something similar. now the led displays nothing and coins just fall thru the machine.I forgot to ,mention this is a nickle machine. Any advise or links to information about the machine or this particular problem would be greatly appreciated. I should also add the service buzzer works and always had and the door open light does not (unsure if it ever did ). I am working on getting pictures to download. also i should add all the fuses check good.

UPDATE:I have checked the 50 and 7.5 volts on the back strip and they appear to be good at 7.4v and 50. I have checked the voltage at the i/o board and it's only at about 1.5 volts ( I believe it's supposed to be at 9.5v afyer briefly reading the manual. I will be reading on but right now believe the problem to be in the power supply board .
