Playing BB2 games on BB3

Hello everyone.  I am entering into the WMS BB realm.  Is it possible to play BB2 games on BB3 platform?  or is each game specific to a platform?  I understand there might be monitor differences but wondering how the CPU responds.

If you put a NXT 3 in a BB2 cabinet, the native blade titles looks stretched on the BB2 monitor. Hardly see a difference but it's there.


I don't believe you can run SSG OS's in a NXT 3 so no you can't.

Well, BB3 games play fine on a BB2 machine (with a BB3 CPU in it), so no reason why BB2 games wouldn't play in a BB3 (Blade) with a BB2 CPU in it.  Games are not compatible between platforms unless you swap out the CPU.

Jeff - So if you would put a NXT 2 in a Blade cabby, would the game load up? They use 16x9 monitors in the Blade and BB2 games look for the 16x10 monitor. Just curious if they would work on a Blade's monitor.

Never seen it done that way but assumed that is would.  Depends on the firmware in the monitor.  I don't have a blade to try it and not interested in getting one either.  Better off and less expensive just using a BB2 machine (or even a converted BB1) to run BB3 games.

I was thinking about getting a BB2 cabinet and changing it to BB3. 

Now off the find the cabinet and parts.............................Oh , and a Brinks truck that happens to have it's back door open and bags of cash falling out in front of my car!!   LOL
