What is happening when you turn on the power switch?
Give me every tiny detail and I will be able to help you get your machine going the way you want it to.

If there are no lights at all, check the reels....is there any resistance when you try to turn one?
The reels should feel like they are stopped but feel like they sort of click (without sound) as you try to manually turn any of them.
If they spin freely, then check the 3 fuses on the power supply box.

From everything you've told us above after you installed the new SP731's, it sounds like you have a burned out fuse.

Okay
You said the dip switches are correct....that means dip switches 1-4 are in the "ON" position (5-8 are "OFF")

Chips are seated in their sockets in the correct position ( notches facing away from volume dial )

The GAME PROM SP chip socket jumper for a 27C512 device or chip should be covering pins E15 (E16 should be exposed)
It's highly possible you have a 27C64 device or a 27C1024 device. There also 27C256's as well but the jumper wouldn't need to change.

If your buddy sent you an SP731 burned onto a different sized chip, then the jumper for the GAME PROM may need to cover pins E16.

I need to see all the writing on that SP chip he burned for you - NOT just the label that may have been put on top of it.

Do not change the jumper until we see what is manufactory written onto that chip body - not hand written.
I want to see if the chip seller wrote:
1).The wrong programming to the chip.
                          or
2).The right programming to a different chip.

If the chip body & size is correct, then the programming that was done to it, may not be correct.

okay...I wish you didn't take a photo with the flash on for that 2nd chip with the exposed glass...cover it back up with tape or label right away.
Oh well.

If the 2nd chip (512kb) is the SP  GAME PROM chip, then it is the correct device - jumper for that chip should be covering E15.
If the 2nd chip is the SS REEL PROM chip, then it's okay as well and the jumper for it's socket should cover pins E17.

Now, the 3rd photo is a weird chip I've never seen.
I don't know who makes that device.
"512x43"...the "512" is the size of the chip in kilobytes (512kb)
but the "43" is weird as well as the rest of the numbers on that chip.
It's not one that is normally seen in an S+.

Can you tell me which photos are the GAME PROM (SP731) and  REEL PROM?
If the REEL PROM (SS????) is the 3rd photo, the problem might be that chip device.
The only thing good about the numbers on it is the "512". At least we know now what to do with the socket jumpers.
That would mean the jumper for that socket should cover either E15 or E17 depending on whether it's the GAME PROM  or the REEL  PROM.

It could be your jurisdiction chip inside the mpu because some jurisdictions require a payout after a certain amount of coins, I am not entirely sure

There is no Jurisdiction chips in an S+
There is a credit limit setting on the machine that you can change. Once the credit limit is exceeded all pays go to the coin tray.

Before you attempt to change any setting your credit meter must be 0 - you cannot proceed with Credits on your machine.

First you need to know your game chip. On the home page please see RICKS FAQs
There is a procedure there to display your game and reel chip numbers.

Using this information you can obtain the PSR (Program Summary Report) for your game chip.
A PSR is really a nice to have.
Simply post on the forum a request for this information and someone will send it to you.
The problem is that these documents are not the easiest to read and understand but they contain all the settings.

I suggest you download Rons (R273) simplified game program guide.
For the novice if you follow the PSR and the game guide side by side you will be a pro in a few min.
Not withstanding if you have the game chip number the guide is good enough to get you to make the changes without the PSR.

Hope this helps.

Larry,   need these questions answered to help figure out your problem:

does this board work in one of your other machines?  by work, I mean can you set the limits over 300? does a board from another machine that will allow a setting of higher than 300 not work in the problem machine.   if yes then your problem is in the machine.
I know the dips are set correctly, right?   using a good SP731,right?   so get back to me and I think I know what is causing your problem.
