I was in almost the same situation as you are, but, it was the lock on the card cage door. I started looking into how to pick them (a few searches on youtube) and it looks like they are surprisingly easy with a tubular lock pick tool. The tools range anywhere from 20.00 for a 3 pc set from China to 85.00 for a 7 pin Southord (seems to be the Cadillac of picks). I would have let you borrow mine, but, I was able to gather every barrel key I had and found one that kind'a worked good enough, with a little finesse, to open it. Once I had it open, I just replaced it with one I had that matched the door. If you end up getting a pick tool, let me know how you make out.
PS I forgot to tell you that most of the picks come with a decoder that allows you to record all the pin depths once you have picked it, so you can just take that info to a locksmith and get a barrel key made. No need to change the lock! Damn you Fusco! Now that I'm talking about it again, I'm kicking myself in the ass for not just buying one when I "needed" one before. Thanks a lot!!!
