WMS BB3 Screen issues
« on: June 12, 2023, 03:15:26 PM »
Having an issue with a WMS BB3 machine. Machines play for about 5-6 hours and then goes blank. If I restart the machine it cut back on and machine works for 5-6 more hours. I am getting a green light on the back of the screen which makes me think something in the screen is going out because signal from video card is there. Could this hopefully be a small part i need to replace in the screen or whole new screen?

Take off the power molex connector at the monitor and see if you have any burnt spots on either end of the molex connector, and also for any corrosion on the pins.  I fought something similar to this, and after repinning the wiring, that put an end to it.

Thanks,
Jason

Yes yes. I've had that happen to me as well on a bb2 machine. Ending up having to do the same thing to get that machine back up and running. With this particular machine though there isn't and corrosion or burnt spots. But since I do already know how and have done that before I'll change those out too just to be sure.

Welllllllll before I could try to hold a light up to the screen the whole machine cut off. When I tried turning it back on the power stayed on for 2 seconds and turned back off. So I installed a new power supply and now the entire machine is working. The screen has not gone black at all in 2 days straight. This is a new one for me. I've never known that a machine can have one thing not working because the power supply is bad? Totally had me thinking there was a screen issue. I've just never seen a screen go blank because of a power supply? Is this known?

Multiple voltages are present throughout the machine provided by the PSU(s).
A healthy, fully functioning PSU is required to power all the different parts in the cabinet including the MPU.
Glad you had an extra one to swap in and got it running again!!

Hmm interesting. Never seen that issue before so didn't know it could be power supply related.

On another note.......i am however back to square one. Machine worked for 3 days and is now back in boot cycle repeatedly. That went away when I change the power supply the 1st time. I am now on the 3rd power supply for this one machine. Something else is making the power supply weaker and weaker until it just fully goes out. I have no clue where to start looking for that something  :Scratch-Head:

Sorry sorry sorry. Not stuck in boot cycle repeating. Just stuck in the boot up process. Received information incorrectly. So not the same issue as before the boot would just keep repeating and repeating. I am going to clear and set up again and set if this fixes the issue.
