Front door hard to latch closed?
« on: July 08, 2015, 12:17:06 PM »
I have an S+ Double Cherry Bar.  Any tips on adjusting the front door locking mechanism?  It is really hard to push down the latch pin(?) when pushing on the door. It's usually a hip check and push down in one motion.  But usually leaves bruises.  How can I adjust the latch so it doesn't take so much pressure to get the latch down all the way in order for the key to come out of the machine?

Try lifting on the bottom edge of the door as you close it and flip the latch when the door hits the cabinet. Ise just a tad bit of force when swinging the door shut also. IGT cabinets tend to be just a little flimsy

Check your hinge screws also. IGT doors are heavy and tend to wear the hinges too.
Thank Ya Thank Ya Very Much.

Other than what all has been stated already, I have had some that the cabinet itself was tweaked/warped, esp. the aluminum cruise boat ones.

I got lazy with mine and put it on a good surge protector. Then I don't have to open the door too often.

It's is more of an issue when I needed to empty out some coins to play the game.  Since it's my parent's game and they live 4 states away, I want to be as easy as possible.

Thanks for all the ideas/tips.  I'll check it out next time I visit them.

Do the door optics bypass so it doesn't matter if it's latched tight or not

I find it easy on any of the machines to push in on the upper right hand corner of the door while simultaneously moving the latch down with your right hand.  On most machines, the latch almost falls into place with very little force.

rollers in cabinet get bent you need to pull then out some  we do it with 2 screw  drivers , those rollers take a hit each time the door is slammed  with latch  not fully raised
