My S+ project nearly complete
« on: July 09, 2015, 05:41:25 PM »
Bought this s+ with no software on mpu and no award glass. Found out that it was missing a player tracking bar as my 9" award glass was short of filling the top box by 1.5 inches. I purchased a haywire kit so at least I had game software.
After some rust cleanup and polishing I present to you:

Family Guy Haywire

First pics of reel strips and glass (plexiglass that is)

Here are pics of strips and glass installed.
Made the award glass taller to fill up top box completely

Can you share what you used to make up the strips and the plexi artwork?

Rick,
I used InDesign, Illustrator and Acrobat for software and a flatbed scanner.

Illustrator was used to recreate the bars and 7's I scanned from original strips.

InDesign was used to create the actual artwork which was a combination of the illustrator art, clip art found online and a font I found called family guy

Acrobat was used to create the print ready PDF's to give to the sign guy that printed the strips and printed and mounted the art on the plexi

Thanks Shaggy.

I'm considering buying another game set as I have a spare board with no chips installed. I was thinking maybe a Simpsons theme.

Thanks Robert
I said nearly complete because the dbv is not working. While it makes noise on startup it sounds terrible and won't accept any bills. Outside of that its working great.

Where did you have the strips printed?  What material?  Cost?  Did you just upload to the printer as 3 separate files in 1:1 uncompressed format?  Did you have to cut the strips to size?
