How do you bypass door optics when they are bad

Its a double diamond machine

Post a picture of the front of the machine or the manufacture date from the tag on the handle side of the machine. You have an IGT, but if it's an S+ I think you have to replace bad optics and if it's an S2000 then you can bypass the door optics. You might also check the belly door switch as it can throw a door open error and be double sure the main door is fully latched and optics are aligned properly before suspecting bad optics

Its a igt double diamond deluxe.  1995 model .  optics are bad, a wire broke on door side right on the optic so I was trying to just bypass the optics.

That would make it an S+ model. Maybe one of our S+ experts can chime in with whether those can be bypassed or not. I'd tell ya they can be replaced for under $20 though and a broken wire is highly unusual.

Yep the wire broke right off the optic end and its way to small to soder back on. so I am trying to bypass. if I cant then I will get new optical for it.

I don't believe you can bypass S+. There are 2 optics. One door and one cabinet.  Each has a different wire color scheme. Make sure you replace the right one doing the set.

One of our old techs built a bypass for this one without the optics but it sometimes wouldn't work.  Most of the time it would but I don't have the guy's wiring written down or anything.  We built a bypass for testing purposes by taping 2 optics together and extending one side.  You can also do this and wire the extended side to a cherry switch to remove the optics from your game.  Of coarse it would require you have 2 good optics first haha.  Those optics are cheap though.  Surely someone here could help you or you might search happ controls.  No idea if they actually have it or not but they carry a ton of slot parts.
