To low Pay out Bally Mustang
« on: September 15, 2015, 07:39:08 AM »
Hello!
I bought this machine rather sheep. In the beginning not much at all worked properly. I have fixed all, but one thing is still not ok. It pays to little, for example:
2 pays 1-2 coins
4 pays 3 coin
10 pays 7-9 coins
20 pays 16-17 coins.
I have fixed with Bally in 20 years now and I now that you can adjust "Pivot roller switch" (1 on pic) at the hopper. I have done that and with same problem with payouts. I tried to cut Cables so only one switch of 3 is used on the switch unit.
Any suggestions what more I can do? I wonder if there is some power-peaks when coil counts up the payout? Maybe a solution is to mount capacitors (10nF) on the pivot roller switch and at the coil (2 on pic) who Count up unit?
(The "Count up unit" always stops in right position).

Yes I would agree with better slots as the first action to take.  A shot of the side of the hopper and the zero stop would help if this does not fix the issue.

Those are the two screws.. Usually you can adjust the stop bumper for the adjustment, but I don't see what's being used for that on your hopper.. Usually the wipers should be in the 6 O'clock position when the are reset back to zero.. Can you show us a picture of what's being used for the stop?
Please remember to make a donation to NLG for mine/our help in repairing your machines problem.. Your donations help keep this site on line.
And remember...
If it's jammed, force it.. If it breaks, it needed to be replaced anyways...

They are sitting realy hard! And as I said, the wiper allways "goes" to right position. Wipers also goes right if you pusch the plunger (in the step up coil) with a finger let say 10 times.

Also check the linkage and the 100 tooth disk on the back of the wiper board. Needs to operate smoothly and accurately. Clean off any old grease from the teeth and sides of the gear. Make sure the teeth are not worn down. Sometime the teeth get worn and the advance can be incorrect.

Jan:

Ok I am back in.  The first picture of the hopper CLEARLY shows your payout board higher on the left than the right.  The picture also shows that the finger on the 2 coin payout rests about mid contact as opposed to at the beginning of the trace or contact like it should.  In small increments move the payout disc counterclockwise until you get the proper payouts.  Also, clean the stu-gots off of that disc.  It looks terrible.

Thanks a lot for all help and good advice! I will remove (and set it back rights) the disc later today and see if it helps.

You are great all of you! :-)

Nope! Still the same problem. Maybe my machine pay one more coin than before.

As I told Before I wonder if there is some problem with the Power, for exampel: Counters often only registrate 70-80% of in and out, and sometimes (when 2 coins win) I can hear the hopper start but shut off Before something pays out.
