Thanks Ford, it did help. I bought this machine for $50, not working, knowing the previous owner had worked on it. I replaced the onboard battery and did a good cleaning of the coin in system and it seemed to be working fine except ... alter playing it or just siting for about a half hour or more. it would start spitting out 30..3, 30..4, etc. and some coins and the only way to clear it up was to turn it off overnight. The next day, it worked fine for about a half hour.
I wanted to run it without the hopper to see if the problem was in the hopper or the machine itself and it looks like the problem is in the hopper. I took it apart and cleaned the coin mechanism and the coin counter but the problem persists. I think I may have a replacement pc board for the hopper. I'll try that to see if that helps. The failure has all the bookmarks of a overheating problem but everything looks ok. I'll let you know. Jim
