Thanks,

So far I'm at $363 plus crating is a little steep.  Hopefully I can get that reduced some.

Take all those quarters out of the hopper!    :garfield:

But seriously, most everyone here has been down this road. You find a nice machine at a good price but it is thousands of miles away, too far to drive and get it. So you check into having it shipped, then find that it will add hundreds of dollars to your cost. And sometimes going with the lowest shipping method results in unhappiness. These things are often loaded and unloaded a few times along the way, sometimes by less-than-careful people using a forklift, pallet jack or 2 grunting guys. Not trying to scare you, but there just isn't a solid way to do this for a low cost.

If the truth be told sometimes you game gets banged up and glass broken even if you pay top dollar.  On another threat this person was recommended as someone who has shipped many slots safely at a reasonable price.

Michelle is an awesome broker who specializes in shipping coin op stuff.  She brokers for North American Van Lines Specialized transportation division.  They just dropped off toys here once again today.  :-)  Shipping requires no palleting or preperation, they do it all.

I use Michelle for all my shipping. Never had a problem with damaged freight. You get what you pay for. Bill.

I only use Michelle when shipping machines... Her name is Michelle Bianci.. How the process works is.... you don't pack the machine at all. Just open your garage goor ( or wherever the machine is) ; 2 workers will look over the machine for any damage.  They put foam corners around the machine... shrink wrap it.. then wrap it in moving blankets. It's loaded onto a 2 wheel dollie and taken away.  Very simple and they're gone in 10-15 minutes.   Michelle is the best.   Bill

I have a quote so far of $360, but that entails hauling it an hour away.  Hopefully I do better than that.  Michelle gave me a quote of $480 which I though was high.  Turns out that is their base 500 lbs cost.  So two or three machines cross county would be a good deal from her.

yes, shipping 2 machines is almost always a better deal with Michelle with their pricing method. I've heard lots of good things about their service.

There is an online place called uShip that I've used a couple of times to ship large items (not slot machines) several hundred miles and both times I was satisfied. It is basically a way to network with freelance movers that haul stuff for hire. The guys I met for my two different shipping events did a good job loading and unloading and protecting the stuff. They were not professional movers, just people without a regular job that had turned to doing this to make a living. Although 2 of them had been doing it long enough I guess they could be considered professionals.

The uShip website puts you in contact with several movers and you choose the one you want to use, based on their bid price for the shipment and on their rating and reviews from previous customers. These guys are own their toes to not get a bad rating. You pay uShip a fee for using the service, but it's not that much. It works somewhat along the lines of using Uber to get a ride without hiring a taxi in that the movers don't work for uShip, they are independent but uShip coordinates things. Might be something to check into.

Word of caution with uShip. I had used them with no issues, until one move where the guy claimed he broke down but still wanted to honor his bid. He sent me overnight a prepaide fedex air bill and a FedEx truck came the same day to pick up the pallet. It was delivered on time and no issues. 6 months later I received a bill from fedex for over $1,200.00 for the shipping. Appearantly the guy had access to someone else's account and was using their information. I had all my documentation where I hired and paid the shipper for his services, but it still took over a year for FedEx to stop with the harassing letters of collections.
I'm sure most on that site are honest, but wanted to share what can go wrong.

Yes, buyer beware with uShip. Not ALL of their transporters are on the up and up. We put a bid out for a slot from AZ to CA, chose the hauler (bids closed after that), only to have the guy string us along on when he could pick up, after he ASSURED me he was avail for a preset date and time. After about the 3rd promise, I found out he was somewhere in AZ waiting for more jobs to come up do he could make a load to CA...
