If you are still talking about your E2000 machine, then look at the eprom located either in M7
or P1, the last 2 digits are the approximate payout percentages of that particular game. This is
not 100% a sure way to tell but about 97% of the eprom game numbers the last 2 digits are
pretty close as to what one would expect to see.

It is likely that if your machine came from a bank of linked progressives the odds for all of those machines may have been tighter. This can be changed with a new chip as indicated above. Your machine is probably not set any worse than the casino it came from. 88% will seem like payouts are non existent pretty much like most casinos today.:arrowthruhead: How long have you been playing it the odds are based on hundreds of thousands of spins and machines will go through long dry spells.
Hope this helps

If there is a group effort to modify code, I'm in. I have been looking for data to do just that, but seems it's very difficult to find - not a lot of techs out there who are familiar with it.

As I understand it, the main determination of payback odds is the frequency of winning symbols between the three reels. So, if there are 3 cherries on a particular reel, adding a 4th. will increase the payback odds. But, the ROM needs to match it as well. Otherwise, it's all supposedly random.

how do these 2000s work ?? just like the newer units running through a bank of "random" #s being kicked by a RNG ??? if so each random number will correspond to a reel combination, adding more winning combos to the number list is the answer ....Im no programmer but am familiar enough to debug bad code in arcades, modify fix and repair roms......I dont know a whole lot about these on the brains side other than that..... but am an expert at putting $$$ in the acceptors and getting my ass handed to me ... LOL :banghead:

Few things that always made me scratch my head with the software in them is : we know truly random can not be..... so the software is running through a list of numbers lets say for discussion all the combos add up to 250,000 numbers ... do they run that list and repeat? or run that list than the same list in a different order.... casino personal will say the RNG is running all the time and when you start a game it stops.... I dont truly believe that 100%..... all though the odds are astronomical, a person could repeatedly keep getting lucky to stop the RNG on winning combos .... If so how does the machine adjust to keep itself at its set %.... Does it blank out alot of winning combo numbers till it corrects ? Based on this theory every winning combo should come up if enough games were played to cover every number in the RNG, but we know this isnt true cause sometime machine go years without paying the max pot after having millions of arm pulls.....If set at 88% ... 88 based on how long ?? do we see it in short term as 65-70-75 with it shaving some off saving for the big one that will balance it ?? If so casinos wont be in compliance when audited.... this has had my gears turning for years on this subject.........We can compare this on a more simplistic scale...... Video poker machines ... Merit dodge city for instance .. Pay out on them is a flat 70% and they have no credit clear or knock off so it never corrects for payouts just simply keeps win rate at 70%... what makes it decide to send out a royal ??  they are pretty simple software .... 4 Roms and a Z80 cpu.... If any of you guys wanna dig into the meat and potatoes of them I can email you the rom bins...What are all your thoughts on my opinions ??

We also have the voodoo of the new server based slots.... which I can tell you from personal experience and talking to a friend thats a tech at the local shady indian casino here, when the casino opened they had the machine at high % so everyone was winning here in the beginning. I myself saw it where you ALWAYS won. The way it works here is Gaming control is the state, and they get 50 or 55% of the casino  $$$..... bout a year later the place shut down cant win shit........I talked to my friend and he said with the new SBS machines they can and do change the payout rate on the fly and get fined for it monthly for not being in compliance... fine to them is $100,000... which is nothing compared to how much extra they take in by doing that... because the state is in for at least 50% they wouldnt dare suspend their license, cause it will only hurt the state as well.....shady and corrupt as hell..at this casino you only have a chance when they decide you win it seems... its not gambling even its if they want to give some back or not ...he told me they keep them tight all month and depending on where they are at the end of the month, the last week of the month may loosen them a bit if they took in a lot all month....
